The projects below are examples of projects that were managed by Tom Charles as the Senior Construction Manager with full responsibility for the build and delivery of the project from foundations through to project hand over.
Tom Charles was the senior construction Manager responsible for the delivery of Butcher Works. A nineteenth century (Grade Two, star rated) Cutlery works converted into apartments and retail/office space. The project was closely monitored by English Heritage and Local Authority Conservation Architects. Sheffield Design Awards- Best Building Commendation.
CHARLES STREET, MSCP
The project involved a multi-storey car park of 520 car parking spaces over 10 levels and 3 levels of retail/leisure accommodation at the lower levels, together with associated public realm and external works for the ‘Heart of the City’ redevelopment within Sheffield City Centre. The two lowest levels of the retail accommodation are occupied by a leisure/casino operator. The MSCP was nicknamed ‘The Cheese Grater’ due to its striking cladding system and went on to be nominated for national awards by the RIBA.
WHIRLOW HALL FARM
A New-Build Education facility for the Farm Trust fully fitted out to modern education standards and then enveloped to fit within the rural environment of a Gree belt farm.
WAKEFIELD WATERSIDE
85 apartments constructed and fitted out ready for investment/sale including communal areas, Riverside external works and local artwork.
COLLEGES
Examples of New Build Colleges incorporating tower blocks, catering blocks, sports halls, administration blocks. Constructed in phased developments working within the confines of an existing campus. (above).
Industrial Construction
Industrial Construction up to 500,000 square feet of warehouse and distribution space. Associated external works and dock levellers. Office accommodation incorporated within the build.
